SETUP/RUN mode

1.

Move X and Y table position so spindle centerline is over program absolute zero. In DRO set X, Y and Z absolute to zero

2.

View your tool path by pressing the TOOL PATH button.  It will show the path the machine will take to cut the part.

Select START to run program starting at event 1.

Select START EVENT # to run program starting at an event other than 1.

Press STOP to halt the program run. Press GO to continue.

STEP Z is used in 2 axis mode to move the Z axis up and down by 1” with each press of the STEP UP & STEP DOWN button.  These buttons are found once you press STEP Z.  This feature may be required when changing tools in 2 axis mode when you need to move the Z axis to load the tool in or out of the spindle.

If you choose, you can set your tool length offsets in the TOOL TABLE.  The first tool in your program is your base tool.  Touch this tool and all others off of a fixed surface and press ABS or INC SET.  All of the other tools in your program are set relative to your base tool.  The value that shows up on all tools, other than the base tool, reflects if the tool is longer or shorter than your base tool.  The Z DRO will update automatically when running a program and you change tools.

9.

RUN OVER means the program is complete.

10.

DATA ERROR means check program because it is impossible to run as programmed.

11.

FAULT means the ProtoTRAK has discovered a problem in its self diagnosis. Consult the service manual.
